Library Automation Adds Up
For many years the library has had a wish to become automated. During this economic time when patronage has increased, books are going in and out of the library. Unfortunately the card file system is not an accurate enough way to keep track of all the inventory of books, audio and visuals. Although this entails- weeding, sorting, relabeling etc. Betty, Glenn & Beth and our awesome volunteers have been diligently working to make sure our patrons are accommodated. As we sort through this tedious process this is a rather extensive and expensive process bar codes and scanner devises computer setup etc. library cards are another focus as we automate. The cards will be an added addition and enable a better tracking system for our books that are invaluable to our loyal patrons. Any donation towards this effort would be greatly appreciated. In addition Thank you for your library support. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
The Renovation will continue...
The renovations maybe at a standstill but the P.P.C Pawlet projects committee supports the library and is looking for donations to help finish the downstairs. The success of the library has had contiued support from Yoga to Tai-Chi, Bone-builders and Dance classes. We are grateful for the contiued efforts from the P.P.C and appreciate all their efforts to making the downstairs a beautiful added edition that will enable the library to continue to grow. Any questions please contact: Ernie Compain, Fred Shehadi, Gordon Brown or edi Mach.
The all purpose room .
With all the activity in the library including Tai-Chi, BoneBuilders, Story Hour, Line Dancing, Art Classes, Children's Dancing, Great Books additional room was necessary. The Pawlet Projects Committee has raised the funds to begin making the downstairs usable for more than storage. Foam Insulation has been applied to the walls and ceiling. It will not only save money and energy in the summer and winter but will help isolate noise between floors. Its fun to watch the room come together.
DONATIONS CAN BE MADE TO THE PAWLET PROJECTS COMMITEE VIA GORDON BROWN< EDI MACH OR ERNIE COMPAIN
